Print Studios, an up and coming game provider has been nominated for the first ever Kongebonus Norwegian Slots Awards, in the category of Best New Provider. The Kongebonus Awards 2022 is a prestigious award voted on by hundreds of Norwegian casino players. Anyone who follows Twitch channels playing slots will surely have noticed that both Crystal Golem and Royal Potato have become very popular slots.
Kongebonus contacted Print Studios during a hectic period just before the end of the year, and Print Studios didn’t hesitate to take the time to sit down for a Q&A with them. Kongebonus got Carl Wiggman, who is both CEO and founder of Print Studios, on the thread.
In the interview with Kongebonus, Carl Wiggman discussed the success and background of their company. He revealed that they had no idea that the Crystal Golem slot machine had achieved a cult status among Norwegian players, but expressed excitement at the news. He also mentioned that the Royal Potato game is on its way to achieving the same level of popularity.
Carl went on to explain that the philosophy behind Print Studios is one of quality over quantity, both in terms of gameplay and personnel. The company was started in Malta in 2020 by a small team of three who had previously worked together in London and believed that the best games are still created by small, skilled teams rather than large listed organizations. They have since been fortunate to find experienced and talented people to join their team remotely from across Europe.
When asked about the trend for 2023, Carl stated that while quality will always be their top priority, there will be a couple more releases in the coming year, with a maximum rate of six per year, releasing roughly every two months. This increase in releases was due in part to delays and early leaks of some games.
Carl also spoke about the importance of their partnership with Relax Gaming via Silver Bullet, noting that it would have taken much longer to build a platform from scratch and that the world doesn’t need more RGS platforms. He also shared some insight into the idea behind the Pine of Plinko game, which features a Plinko board with pinball-inspired elements and a progressive bonus round.
Finally, Carl shared that it was hard to say when they realized their games had great appeal to the public, but that from their perspective, they spend more time on love and attention to detail than other studios. He also expressed gratitude for the positive feedback and recognition they have received, including a nomination for Best New Provider in the Kongebonus Awards.
